CONTROL SOLUTIONS

Contain a known concentration of glucose, which falls into two ranges: NORMAL and HIGH (the reference renge can be found on the test strip vial) Allow to make sure the glucometer and the test strip work properly Control solutions should be used whenever:
–  Measurement results do not match the clinical state of the patient
– Doubts arise as to whether the glucometer and strips work properly
– You want to practice the test procedure
– The glucometer or test strips could be damaged or stored in inappropriate conditions
